Mas Selamat did a "Toilet Break"
I doubt he escaped through the fences since it is filled with barb wires and has security cameras around the perimeter of the Detention Center. The gates are guarded by guards and security personnel. So where else can he escape? Sewers!
Well it is just a guess. Since the media seems a little 'hush-hush' about the how he actually escaped.
It's been more than 24 hours now, the prospect of him being caught seems slimmer by the minute. 24 hours is more than enough time to escape Singapore. Less than an hour to get around Singapore and even lesser to get out of this island.
Just to add salt to the wound, our fittest men are out looking for a man with a limp. If they can't catch him, I really do not know what to say about Singapore's security. No I am not losing my confidence on Singapore's security, our tax payers money are well spent, you can see it all around. I think what Singaporeans are thinking is the competency of our security.
We are holding a F1 Race this year and the Youth Olympics in 2 years time. And this guy is known to be the mastermind behind the plot of crashing a plane into Changi Airport and bombing the Yishun MRT station. You really can't have a man such as him loose. It just makes us all feel uneasy.
So what do I think about his escape? I could say brilliant if I knew how he did it. If he did it so smartly like those 'Ocean's Eleven' kind of escape then yeah brilliant. But if it is because of a mistake by the security personnel then we just have ourselves to blame.
I personally think that he might have planned his escape. Bear in mind he is a limping man, he must have some kind of transport to get him to some edge of the island. Then all he has to do is get on a boat and he is free. Impossible? Remember Took Leng How, the guy who escaped from, yes you guessed it, a toilet! And this guy was escorted by the police. He escaped from there and hailed a taxi, went to the Woodlands checkpoint and left Singapore. Well Mas Selamat could have done the same. Probably not to the Woodlands checkpoint, but maybe on a boat somewhere.
Don't forget that there was a security lockdown of the Detention Center. How long it took I do not know but those minutes spent, Mas Selamat would have been on a vehicle, speeding off from his escape.
Well, I sincerely hope they catch him soon. I mean really soon. It isn't a wonderful feeling knowing a man is capable of inflicting terrible damage to this country.

My $2.80 breakfast
It had 2 half-boiled eggs, 2 kaya toast with butter and your choice of drink. I got myself teh(milk tea).
Well there's the kaya and the butter sticks. The bread toasts was not that hot though, so the butter didn't really melt. But the bread was crispy and the kaya was just nice. :)
The half-boiled eggs were pretty good. It was 'half-boiled' correctly. Actually this is a no brainer, I used to half-boil eggs when I was a kid, so if they messed this up, it would really be kinda silly.
So there's my breakfast. Complimented with a cool weather and a nice breeze. It really made my day.
And this pigeon kept me company. This little bird was brave enough to actually come near me and walk under my chair. It was just walking around, waiting for me to drop some crumbs on the floor. This kind of thing was unheard of a decade ago. But I guess they know most people won't bother catching them as a pet or probably as food.

Singapore will hosts Youth Olympics 2010
SINGAPORE - Singapore erupted in celebration on Thursday after winning the right to host the inaugural Youth Olympics in 2010, with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong calling it a new era for Southeast Asian sport.

We beat the Russians! Yeah! Who would have thought a small little island will beat the biggest land mass country in the world. Well I did and I think many others did. No doubt Russia has more experience in holding such big events but heck we also have our fare share of event organising.
This is big news. Ever since I was a kid, I been watching the olympics, even the winter Olympics. Now, we are hosting the Youth Olympics! We are talking about a world event. It's not the usual Asian or SEA events held in our country before, this is a world event. People from all over the world will compete on our island. Not forgetting their supporters. Tourists too would like to see the Olympics! Millions will come down to our island, I wonder if we will even have space for them. haha! We need more hotels!
Also the transportation sector has to be more efficient now. More planes, more trains, more buses, more taxis! We could probably have the most number of people in a 647 km square island.
I wonder if there will be new stadiums or sports centers built. It would be cool though, we already are hosting the Formula 1 Race which will be done at night for the first time! Now we are hosting the first Youth Olympics!
I think 2010 will be a busy year for Singapore. We have the National Day to think of and also the Youth Olympics which will also be held on August 2010.
There will be songs for the Olympics and the National Day. I wonder what the mascots will be like. Probably lions or merlion perhaps?
Talking about people, security checks will be more stringent now. We might see a lot of our men being called up for duty to do their part in ensuring Singapore's safety. Traffic police will have to do a lot to ensure smooth traffic. Our army personnel might be in to help with the logistics. Civil Defence will be on stand by. Gosh, this is going to be a big logistical challenge. I might just be paranoid, probably because I am just excited to hear our country's name as the hosts for the YOUTH OLYMPICS 2010!

Ever wanted to fly around Google Earth?
Well you can actually.
1) Download and install the latest version of Google Earth 4.2
2) Once you open Google Earth, press Ctrl+Alt+A (Mac users: Cmd+Opt+A)
3) Select type of plane and location to take off/fly.
If you have a joytick, you can enable it too.
If not, you can go to Google's documentation of Flight Simulator's keyboard controls.
Review:
Having a flight simulator is a pretty cool idea but depending on your PC specs, the view might not be that fantastic. It will take time to load for you to enjoy the scenery. And if only all the buildings were in 3D, then it would more fun to whizz pass them.
So momentarily, you can just enjoy the flat terrain and go wherever you want to go.
Controls
The controls on your keyboards needs to get a little used to. This is after all a flight simulator so you might need to practice and if you crash, it's ok, don't feel bad about it. I did too.... a couple of times. But it does get a bit boring after a while because you can only go so fast and cover so much area.
Sound
No sound though, so you can't really 'feel' your plane flying.
I think overtime if they work on the Flight Simulator, and make it more realistic like the Microsoft Flight Simulator, then it would be much more fun to play with. Especially with sound and a view of the cockpit.
And I hope they have an "easier mode" of flying, so at least amateurs like me can just have fun flying around the world in less than an hour!

Imagine a life where your technology isn't mobile (video)
Well, Motorola made a short vid on a life without mobility. It isn't a good vid but I guess they tried to send the message that their products are mobile. It could have been a lot better if they added humour in it and probably with a storyline.
Like for example, a man goes out of his house for his morning jog, and you can see him stretching and jogging on the spot with a distant view of the sun rising. Then as he begins his jog, the camera zooms out, showing him carrying his big disc player on one hand and his pack of CDs on the other with huge headphones over his head. And as he jogs, he tries to skip the tracks but because his other hand is filled with CD cases, he accidentally drops some of them and still fumbles with the buttons on his big disc player.
Then, after the jog, he returns home. Just as he opens the door, the camera switches angle showing a trail of broken CDs.
He enters home, goes to his room and passes by his computer and we can see a glance of his computer showing he has email. He takes a shower and when he exits from his shower, he takes a glance at the clock and realises he is going to be late for his meeting. He rushes to wear his clothes, the camera switches into different angles as he starts to take his pants, socks, shirt, jacket, pc monitor, his pc, keyboard, mouse and finally his suitcase.
He rushes downstairs, with all his pc and pc peripherals, towards the kitchen and drops everything that he has on his hands to the floor and starts eating quickly the food his wife has prepared for him. His wife who was still cooking some bacon, watches her husband eating profusely with the fork.
As he makes his last bite, he says "The eggs are lovely dear" and rushes to pick up his pc and their peripherals into his hands. As he leaves the kitchen, he kisses his wife and says "Bye dear!" Then, as he rushes to the door, his wife asks"Are you sure you got everything?" He replied from a distance "Yup!" and you can hear "cling, clang" sounds on the background (the sounds are reflective of his urgency as his stuff keeps hitting onto something)
The camera shows him running out of the house, activating his car doors to unlock and starts to throw everything into his back seat. His neighbour next door who is watering his lawn, sees him and says "Good morning!" He replied "Morning George!" Neighbour: "Late huh?" He replied "Yeah! Talk to you later" and he gets into his car seat, starts the car and drives off quickly not realising his mouse is dangling out of his closed passenger door.
He drives to his company, parks his car unevenly and starts to take out all his pc and pc peripherals from the passenger seat and some how he manages to carry his suitcase along. He runs to the lobby and goes to the lift. A lift was closing as he reaches, and he screams "Wait, wait hold the lift!" The lift door opens and he enters, a pretty lady was inside it. He says "Thanks!" with a smile. "Err.. 24 please" she presses the lift number, the door closes. The lift goes up with a jazzy tune in the background. She looks the stuff he is carrying and then smiles at him. He smiled back and gave an embarrassing look. Both looked up a the lift numbers as it changes. The journey up the lift was silent through out with the exception of the jazz tune in the background.
"Bing!" The lift reaches level 24, he rushes out, passing other office workers and office desks. The other workers look on as as he runs to the meeting room.
He reaches just outside the meeting room, a desk with a receptionist was near it. He says with a panting breath "Hi! I am here for the meeting."
The receptionist replied:"Oh, didn't you receive the email this morning? It was postponed to next week."
His face changes into shock and disbelief.
Then the slogan appears "It doesn't need to be this hard"
And then the "Motorola" logo appears with the jazzy music from the lift.
A few seconds after that, we see him walking away, dragging his pc and pc peripherals.
THE END

I was involved in a car accident. People please wear a seatbelt! Even if you are a rear passenger!
Anyway, I can't repeat myself again so here's what happened (excerpts from my other blog):
"No, it wasn’t my car, I don’t even have one. The cab I took with my friend, got into a rear collision from another car. It happened as the cab was filtering from Simei Road into the main road East Upper Changi Road. It was definitely a rainy day. It rained yesterday and it rained today for hours. It was around 4pm.
The cab driver stopped at the filter lane, giving way for the cars on the main road. I was in the passenger seat with my friend talking to her. It was a sudden jerk when it happened. I felt the cab moved to the front violently and I am pretty sure the collision was twice. Had the cab not stepped on the brakes, the cab could have moved to the main road and we would be at the mercy of oncoming vehicles from the right.
Obviously the cab driver was mad, we were dazed and asked each other if we were all right. I could hear the cab driver shouting at the car driver outside. When I went out to see, the car driver was a young man, probably early twenties. His look on his face showed that he was at fault but he was calmed thorough out. Frankly, remaining calmed was the right thing he did. The last thing we need is an argument to blow up the whole matter.
In this instance, he was at fault. Knowing it was raining, he should have kept a longer distance from the vehicle in front, plus, the road towards the filter lane was down hill. So the braking distance is definitely longer.
Anyway, they were discussing about it but the young man stopped him and said that we should move further to the bus stop. So they did but the car driver just stopped further down a bit, just before the bus stop. Which was still ok. At least traffic could still move freely from the filter lane.
Plate numbers, phone numbers, ic number and names were exchange between both men. Both of them asked if we were all right. I guess it was just an unfortunate accident due to bad weather and misjudgement. Either way, it ended quick and it ended without a fight. The best kind of accident scenario one could get. Now I might have to be a witness for all that, but hopefully not, because if this went to court it means I have to go down and give a proper statement. Maybe even have to be on the witness stand. I hope the two men settle it out of court, frankly if it went to court, the young man is sure to lose a lot.
I owe it to my friend for reminding me to put on the seat belt when we were in the cab. She always reminds me abt it, and for that I thank her.
Anyway, after that incident I been feeling giddy and my chest hurts pretty bad. But I think it’s just muscle pains. If it gets any worse I might have to go see the doc abt it. My dad told me I should have asked for an ambulance right there, but I told him that I felt fine during that moment. Probably, my body was still in shock so I didn’t feel any pain.
Anyhow, when I got home, I rested. I still feel pain on my chest though. And I been coughing a lot. Right now, I feel like my heart is being clenched. I hope i get well soon.."

Does Google worry about your privacy? (Video)
Unsettling video. But I guess by now everyone knows abt it, what is worrying is how ppl seem to casually accept it.
