I opened up my wallet and looked at my driving license. It has been one year since my TP test. No more 'Triangle' plate for me. Haha! Now the two plastic reflectors are stuck in my room, a reminiscent memory of my 'driving learning' days.
Still in good condition, I think I'll keep it for my siblings when they take their driving license.

My car ride with theyoungbusinessman
The youngbusinessman recently had his driving license and rented a car to drive around Singapore. I had the privilege to have a ride with him as we went to NAFA to see a friend of mine showcase her FYP work for graduation.
He picked me up from my home and we headed to the nearest petrol station to top-up fuel before heading off to our destination. It was interesting to ride with him and also a bit nervous, he is a new licensed driver. But all is well, even though it was his first time driving through the expressway. A little slow at first but he picked up speed as he became used to the road conditions.
Missed a turn
Upon reaching there, we missed a turn and ended up at Orchard Road. Yes, Orchard Road. It was BIG miss turn. Ironically, before when I mentioned we should go Orchard Road, he declined. Well, things have a way of turning out differently than what we expected. But hey, at least he got to drive through Orchard Road and experience how unforgiving the traffic can be during peak hours.
NAFA
After parking the car at one of the multi-storey carparks, we headed down to NAFA. It was late evening, and the place had a nice ambiance. Not a big crowd, but a lot of well dressed people. The project showcased was really interesting. A lot of ideas and I can see that a lot of effort was being put in. Singaporeans sure do have talent!

I didn't manage to take a lot of photos, I only manage to take a few photos of my friend's work though. Anyways, I think the showcase is still on till Friday. Just go to Gallery 2, there will be a lot of people there so be prepared to squeeze when you look around the gallery.
I met my friend there and so did the youngbusinessman, he met a friend of his over there too. The was a lot of food but we didn't eat because we wanted to drive around more before the time expires for us to send back the car.
Tanjong Rhu and East Coast
He asked me to drive this time, and we headed to down to Tanjong Rhu. Nice cool place to hang out. Long since I was there and we talked about business over there, before heading to East Coast Beach, MacDonalds to have dinner cum supper. After driving a while, I forgot how tiring driving is. But it was a fun experience to drive again.
Heading back home
After all that driving, I was glad theyoungbusinessman decided to drive back. I navigated the route back home and to be frank, he missed a few turns again. Well, you learn from your mistakes. He is still familiarizing so it was ok. I mean, it is better to make mistakes now rather than later.

Out driving till 3 am for the past 2 days
What an incredible two days it has been. I was out driving late with my friends, watching a movie and having supper. Then after sending them home, I called up a good friend of mine for some drinks. She was surprised to see me driving. I was just fulfilling my promise to her that I'd drive her around when I have the chance since I got my license. She decided we hang out at the airport. The funny thing was I got lost getting there. I took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up at Pasir Ris. Anyway, it was a fun outing even though was worn out. Having not seen her for a long time, we did a lot of catching up. She looks happy and jovial even though it was like after midnight. Luckily for us though, we were not working the next day.
The next day, I went to the airport again to see my sis, grandma, cousins, relatives to Indonesia. I was there early with my dad and had a good man to man talk with my dad. I have a good relationship with my dad, we joke around and he is pretty fun to hang out with. Plus, he is an incredible cook!
After seeing them off, I drove my family back home and I kinda slumped myself to sleep, totally forgetting the appointment I was suppose to have later. When I woke up, I got a few smses from her. She is actually a friend of mine who just got back from Aussie for her school break. So I resheduled the appointment to around 11 pm because I had to send my mum and her friend to TMall for some shopping and dinner.
Haven't seen her for such a long time, I complimented on how she looks a lot slimmer than the last time I saw her. She smiled of course and laughed. We talked a lot and enjoyed the sea breeze at the East Coast before driving off again to Orchard to see the Christmas lights. I guess she was happy to see all that. I know how it feels to be away from home for so long, so just letting her have some sweet memories from home before she sets out to Aussie again next month.
Driving around in Singapore really sets you thinking, I thought about many things when I was driving alone in the car. For your info, it wasn't my car, it was a personal loan for the week before my grand aunt comes back from Indo. Anyway, holding on to this piece of machinery, I started to think about the future. Wondering if I am able to afford such a luxury.

Driving for my family
Was out for my hari raya outing with my family today. My dad was driving us around with his cab. All the while, in the cab, I was hoping to drive for my family. But alas my parents do wish to own one because they would rather invest it in other things. I guess it's true, owning a car is pretty expensive here.
Anyway, on the last house visiting my mum decide that we should go visit her friend, which was all the way at Choa Chu Kang. I didn't felt like going, because first of all, its like on the other side of Singapore. Second we had no transport; my dad changed shift so we had to get a new form of transport to get there.
I thought we had to take a cab but luckily my mum manage to get her bro's car. So I thought, cool! Finally I can drive for my family, but my dad was apprehensive and said he would drive instead. I was a bit pissed but guess he knows the road better. I slept through out the journey there. Upon reaching there I was still thinking of driving the car, at least for the journey back home.
After the house visit, I manage to convince my mum about me driving, my dad said ok finally. oh man was I delighted. I was from tired and pissed to energetic and happy! I drove all the way from Choa Chu Kang back to Tampines.
All through the journey back I was smiling, it felt so good to be in control of a car. I know some of you who have drove before would disagree with me, because long drive journey's isn't a wonderful experience, but for me it was. Partly because of the fact that I haven't drove for a long time since I got my license. And also that I wished to drive for my family one day. Today was the day, seeing my family sleeping soundly in the car, I guess my driving was still pretty good because my mum is usually critical about my driving and today she didn't complain, she just advised me to not to drive too fast.
We stopped for petrol at Tampines and drove to my uncle's house to return the car. When we reached there, he was surprised to see me sitting in the driver's seat. Even his youngest son who was with him, was surprised!
He is a kid about 7 years old, and he kept asking me "Abang, you drive the car?" while pulling my 'baju kurung'. I said, "Yeah."
And then he asked,"REally?!". I said, "Yah la." Then he went 'police' on me, " Can I see your driving license?" I laughed hysterically.
